MLK Essay Response

Martin Luther King was responsible for freeing whites of the years of dishonesty of race. MLK helped to make our nation a "free nation" as we began to become what we aspired to be when America was founded. King was suggested to be "the right man at the right time" as he lead his fight against segregation victoriously. He made up a very important part as a leader of the Civil Rights Movement. He was a genuine guy who protested and lead in a way that is unforgettable. MLK is considered to some, the most important person in the 20th century. A line from MLK's famous speech, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character," is often quoted. I think MLK would be proud that his words are considered influential and important today, however, recently it has been used for those against affirmative action, which he would be upset about.
