Times of Change-Born on the Fourth of July,Stop the Sun, To Heal a Nation

Dear Vietnam Veterans,

As we continue to commorate you on Veterans Day and Memorial Day,we continue to cherish your fight in battle and outstanding nationalism. We appreciate your determination in Vietnam as many protests were going on back home over your position. When war in Vietnam was causing many problems at home you continued to fight for your country and risking your life for it. Family and friends were left back at home praying for survival of you and the country as battle deaths plagued the United States. You will never be forgotten and will always be remembered for your courage, determination, pride and devotion. There can never be enough appreciation shown for you, thank you.

Times of Change- I Feel Like I’m Fixing To Die Rag

The song is asking the big strong men to fight in the Vietnam War.
The song is asking the generals to lead and attack the Vietnamese, US is fighting against communists
The song is asking Wall Street to supply the army with tools.
The song is asking mothers to send their boys to serve in the war.

1. we're gonna have a whole lotta fun.
2. whoopee! we're all gonna die.
3. The only good commie is the one who's dead
4. be the first one on your block to have your boy come home in a box.

Times of Change- The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution

The main thesis of the essay is how the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution dragged us into the Vietnam war and the problems it brought.
The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was an approval by congress to protect the Gulf of Tonkin- the reason for this was to protect the US intrests in the gulf.
Using the critic's point of view the author shows his main point of how the resolution dragged us into war and how it still brings conflicts today. It also explains how Congress approved this document but never ended up declaring war.
It links to The Dubious Crusade because both end up badly and have the opposite effect of the intention. As in the Dubious Crusade it shows the breaking apart of the nation and in The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution it tells of the battle it lead to.

Times of Change- History

The overall theme of the poem is death. The poem discusses the killing between China, France, Vietnam, Annam, Japan, Britain, America and the USSR. All the killings relate back this main theme and the title of History.

Times of Change- A Dubious Crusade

Dubious Crusade=doubtful defensive agressive movement.

The American fight against communism failed miserably. Before the Vietnam War America had a lot of nationalism and confidence, due to this great loss they became unsure and their confidence shrunk. The war had been close to breaking America apart and confidence in the government also shrunk. 57,000 men lost their lives and the troops were wounded.
